201 athletes will participate in the event, including 115 men and 86 women. The host nation has met this continental challenge with determination. The African Judo Union and the host country, together with their experts, are already on site to ensure the smooth running of the competition, which will be held at the Treichville Sports Park.
On the sidelines of the African Championships, an important refereeing and coaching seminar took place. It was led by two IJF refereeing experts, Mr Raúl Camacho and Mr Jean Claude Djimbi. They were accompanied by Mr Ababacar Ngom, Chief Refereeing Director of the African Judo Union, and Mr Khaled Anwar, Refereeing Director.
In total, forty-one judo technicians and officials took part in this advanced training session, which offered an opportunity to review and analyse the recent changes in refereeing rules.
