Over many years Uzbekistan has become an important judo development centre that plays a crucial role in promoting the sport. The Tashkent Grand Slam, one of the main events of the international calendar, will thus be extended for the next four years.

If the judo family will meet in just four weeks in the Uzbek capital, in the wake of the Paris and Baku grand slams, the presence of judo in the region is therefore guaranteed until 2028.

The Uzbekistan Judo Federation has demonstrated that this grand slam is a major tool for the development and promotion of judo. All the work provided by all local stakeholders, including the federation and also the government, the National Olympic Committee and all the federation's partners, has borne fruit in the most beautiful way with the Olympic title of Diyora Keldiyorova at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The professionalism of the organisers and their willingness to welcome countries from five continents each year to Tashkent is a sign that Uzbek judo is doing well and is ready to continue to shine throughout the world.
