The Paris 2024 Olympic Games have been over for a few weeks, while the Paralympic Games are about to begin. In the meantime, the IJF is celebrating its youth with the Cadet World Championships in Lima, Peru. In September, the World Judo Tour will return too, with the Zagreb Grand Prix 2024.

The least we can say is that the summer has been lively and spectacular, as have been the last few years, while the ones that are opening promise to be just as exciting.

Among all the statistics that we will remember from the last Olympic Games, that of the number of different countries winning gold medals is impressive. Indeed, 11 different countries shared the 14 individual medals at stake, something never seen before: Japan, Azerbaijan, France, Georgia, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Croatia, Canada and Slovenia.

Expanding to the whole podium, 26 nations had the honour of stepping on to it and benefiting from the public's enthusiasm, while a record number of 37 countries entered the final block.

With these few figures, judo celebrates the universality of the sport and its openness to all without barriers and without discrimination.

To celebrate our athletes and their incredible results, we have prepared 2 Olympic backgrounds for desktop and mobile that you can download here and install on your devices.
