Under pressure, yet still dangerous with her opportunistic seoi-otoshi attempts, Martinez Abelenda managed the tempo expertly and preserved her advantage to claim the first gold medal of the grand slam.

Bronze medal contest, Abiba Abuzhakynova (KAZ) vs Eva Perez Soler (ESP).

Two bronze medal contests completed the podium line-up. Despite her early setback, Abuzhakynova (KAZ) earned a chance to salvage her day, against Perez Soler (ESP). Inside the first minute, she took the lead with a precise waza-ari. Perez Soler responded with a yuko, narrowing the gap, and a second yuko further increased the pressure on the Kazakh judoka. Nevertheless, Abuzhakynova’s early score proved decisive, allowing her to maintain the result until the final gong and secure the 10th grand slam medal of her career.

Bronze medal contest, Yua Mori (JPN) vs Sabina Giliazova (RUS).

The second bronze medal contest featured Yua Mori (JPN), who advanced through the repechage against Sabina Giliazova (RUS). Mori struck first with a yuko from a seoi-otoshi on the edge of the tatami. Despite sustained pressure from Giliazova, the Japanese judoka held on to her advantage until the end, capturing her first medal on the World Judo Tour.

Medals, cheques and flowers were presented by H.E. Jabr Al Suwaidi, Minister of State of UAE, and Mr Juan Carlos Barcos, IJF Refereeing and Education Director and President of the Spanish Judo Federation
