Recent activity has been exciting, impactful and fun. The Foundation said, “During the early months of 2025, a dedicated group of visually impaired children and adults embarked on an exciting journey as they began their judo training. The classes, held at the Tams Brig Judo Club, have been expertly led by Level 1 coach Chris Nichol, who himself is both blind and deaf. With the invaluable support of the club's founders & head coaches, Charles and Michele Strachan, this unique programme not only serves as an inspiration but also as a beacon of encouragement for judo and sport throughout the UK. It emphasises that by removing barriers, we can discover new pathways for delivering and achieving outstanding performance creatively."
"We would also like to express our gratitude to Ian Johns, the GB Paralympic Judo Manager, Even Molloy, a visually impaired IBSA world medallist and Jack Hodgson, a two-time Paralympian (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020), IBSA world medallist and 2015 IBSA junior world champion. We thank them for taking the time out of their busy schedules to travel to Scotland and celebrate with us, presenting our visually impaired future champions with their first judo grades."
"Additionally, we offer a special thank you to the International Judo Federation for their unwavering support and encouragement of our charity. Thoughtful gifts they provided for the children were greatly appreciated. We thank Fighting Films too who provide our charity with judogi and much more. Together, we continue to break new ground and inspire the next generation of athletes.“
