Daniela Krukower, who painted the artwork, explained, "This painting was inspired to honour the 10 year anniversary of the first announcement by the President of the IJF, regarding the creation of the IJF Academy, an institution which I’m proud to be part of.
It was a great honour for me when Mr Envic Galea, the Director of the institution, asked me to create a piece of artwork that would highlight this moment in history.
Th announcement to create the IJF Academy was made at the IJF Congress in Brazil, and that's the reason why I used the green and yellow for background colours, to recall the colours of the Brazilian flag.
In the painting, Mr Vizer is looking to his right to symbolise his commitment to a prosperous future, always having the judo principles as a priority in his mind. His expression is joyful and serious at the same time to show the importance of this announcement.
The logo at the bottom right of the painting was designed by Iulian Pena, the IJF graphic designer, to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Academy.
Mr Galea said that on that day Mr Vizer was wearing his favourite tie, a purple coloured tie, which is a combination of the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. For me, it represents creativity and wisdom, along with peace and magic.
I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed making it."
