The ceremony, held in Rome, recognises Mr Giorgetti's commitment to judo values such as discipline and dedication, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Also present were famous singer and IJF Ambassador, Mr Albano Carrisi, Mr Max Hervé George, IJF partner, the vice president of Fijlkam, Col. Giuseppe Matera and Mr Felice Mariani, a member of the IJF Hall of Fame.

"I am honored and moved by this recognition", said Minister Giorgetti, before adding, "Especially since sport in general represents for me not only a passion but also a fundamental value for growing."
“The honorary judo belt symbolises the dedication, discipline and commitment that the minister demonstrated in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle through sport. During his mandate as undersecretary of the Council of Ministers with Delegation for Sport, he contributed strongly to the reform of sports, which represents a milestone for grassroots sports practice in our country", said Felice Mariani.
