Fourteen gold medals have been presented to deserving young judoka who can now call themselves world champions. Six countries have won the golds but 19 countries have won medals overall, with Africa, Asia, Europe and Pan America all present on the podium.
Ahead of the mixed team event being held on day 5, the volunteers are being thanked for their service so far. They have been nothing short of perfect, taking care of all manner of different departments and supporting the smooth-running of the competition. From staff refreshments to judogi control support and everything between, their help has been invaluable.
In the coming hours the area will be transformed to create space for the excitement of the teams who will be in good voice and spirit, undoubtedly. Fifteen nations will take part with the top four seeds drawn away from one another, pre-empting an electric final block. Join us on JudoTV to follow all the action on our last day in Portugal.
