IJF: You are a two-time and reigning world champion and a double Olympic bronze medallist. What would it mean to you to win the World Championships for a third time in 2018?
MA: It would be very nice, I would like it very much. The purpose of this year 2018 is to seek yet another world title. I'm training a lot for this. Of course I think one thing at a time. Now there is another competition to reach the Worlds Championship. My focus now is on the Hohhot Grand Prix and after I finish I put the whole training focused on fighting the Baku World Championships.
IJF: Who will be your toughest competitors and why?
MA: There are a lot of strong girls in my category. Every time the podium changes. The ones I have the most difficulty are the Japanese, Dutch and French girls. They are very tough opponents.
IJF: Which country do you think is the main challenger to Brazil for the Mixed Team event at Baku 2018?
MA: Japan
IJF: Which is your favourite value in judo?
MA: The whole philosophy of judo. Respect, discipline, fellowship. All. I really like this sport.
IJF: What can judo fans expect to see from you this year?
MA: I will give my best as always in training in competitions and I will do everything to bring many medals to Brazil.
