The Paris Grand Slam not only opens this season for the IJF World Judo Tour but it also opens the elite circuit for a new Olympic cycle, that of Los Angeles 2028. The Paris Olympic Games wasn’t quite the closing event of 2024, that honour went to Tokyo, but Paris did close the Olympic cycle and now Paris opens the next and this is a wonderful cyclic anomaly.

To launch this first grand slam of 2025, the first order of play is to run the draw. 300 athletes from 50 nations have been waiting for it and now it is live, available on JudoTV, and the athletes can plan for their big day.
