The Paris Grand Slam concluded today at the Accor Arena in Bercy in the most beautiful way. The last two days were beautiful and exciting, offering countless great actions and emotions. Just like every edition before, the show was amazing, enough to delight the 15,000 spectators who were present from morning to night to witness the exploits of their heroes.

This second day was once again an opportunity to celebrate the players of the world of international judo. Great champions were honoured, such as Loïc Pietry (FRA), world champion in 2013 in Rio and who is ending his sporting career, and Sebastien Girardey who has directed the Paris Grand Slam in recent years for France Judo. Girardey is now flying towards new horizons.

A large part of the show before the start of the final block was dedicated to the traditional IJF Awards which saw the consecration of great champions, coaches or even large-scale projects with a social vocation.

IJF President, Mr Marius Vizer

At the end of the ceremony, former world champion Loretta Cusack-Doyle (GBR) was awarded her 9th dan by the IJF President, Mr Marius Vizer, just before the French champions were once again honoured for the greatest pleasure of the fans.

The 2025 season is now launched. In two weeks the World Judo Tour will meet in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the second stage of the circuit. Until then, find all judo news on the IJF website and on social networks, as well as on JudoTV.com
