The judo tournament had barely ended when all the players who contributed to the success of the event gathered together for the closing gala. Around the champions and medallists, representatives of the federations, VIPs and guests, members of the organising committee and IJF staff were able to exchange and share their best memories of an intense week of judo, a week full of emotion that concluded with the historic mixed team competition.

The IJF President presented Dr Sandor Csanyi with the diploma of IJF Honorary President and Mr Zhiliang Bian with the diploma of IJF Honorary Vice-President. Both Mr Bian and Mr Csanyi expressed their pleasure and honour to be part of the global judo family that has proven once again that judo is a key player in the world of sport and in the Olympic movement.
