The OTP Group Tashkent Grand Slam 2025 is set to take place in the vibrant city of Tashkent in the coming days. Are you ready? The Uzbekistan Judo Federation and the organising committee are.

As IJF President Marius Vizer stated, "Surrounded by both history and progress, we are guaranteed organisational excellence. The Uzbek capital is now a staple destination for the world’s best judoka, who have enjoyed hospitality and passion each year at the grand slam as well as at the 2022 Tashkent World Championships. There is no doubt that the judo in Tashkent will be spectacular and the welcome will be generous and familial, with every aspect of our sporting environment taken care of."

For Azizjon Kamilov, President of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, 2025 is special, "This year holds special significance for Uzbekistan. The gold medal won by Diyora Keldiyorova and the bronze medals earned by Muzaffarbek Turoboyev and Alisher Yusupov at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have brought immense pride to our nation. These accomplishments confirm that Uzbekistan is on its path to becoming a leading country in the world of judo.

Olympic champion, Diyora Keldiyorova

The foundation of these successes lies in unwavering support for the development of sport by His Excellency President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In recent years, we have experienced a pivotal transformation in the history of judo in our country. We have achieved historic milestones and set new standards. High-quality training facilities have been established nationwide, allowing every judoka in Uzbekistan, even in remote areas, the opportunity to hone their skills.

Our mission extends beyond creating champions on the tatami; we aim to foster the development of a healthy and strong youth. I am confident that this tournament, as always, will be conducted at the highest level. I believe that every participant will leave Uzbekistan with cherished memories, positive impressions and a deeper appreciation for our country’s hospitality.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the president of the International Judo Federation, Mr Marius Vizer, for his trust and support in organising such a prestigious competition."

The OTP Group Tashkent Grand Slam 2025 will keep all judo fans in suspense from 28th February to 2nd March. Stay tuned and follow all the action at https://judotv.com/
