Several cadets are in play, some even present straight off the back of their performances at the Lima World Championships Cadets only last week. Oruc (TUR) won bronze in Peru having already been world cadet champion twice before. She will face Carpio Fernandez (ESP) in the first round on day two. Emma-Melis Aktas (EST) will also compete having won bronze in Lima. She will walk on to the tatami in her home country, stepping up to the junior category, competing against Stasiulyte (LTU) in the +78 kg group on day 3.

The competitors are not alone. IJF World Judo Tour referee Vitalii Sulima was also in Lima, as was IJF Referee Commission Secretary Tonino Chyurlia. Both are officiating in Tallinn too. The level is high at this continental championship and the crossover of people from event to event ensures that consistency and development are at the forefront of everything.
