-63kg: From Tbilisi bronze to Antalya gold, Cuban closes in on Tokyo 2020
Tbilisi Grand Prix bronze medallist Maylin DEL TORO CARVAJAL (CUB) won her first IJF World Judo Tour gold medal with a hard-fought win over Asian Games bronze medallist TANG Jing (CHN) in the -63kg final. DEL TORO CARVAJAL won her first IJF final by a waza-ari score as world number 38 TANG still earned her best result on the international stage by capturing her first medal at this level.
In the first semi-final TANG held down The Hague Grand Prix bronze medallist Amy LIVESEY (GBR) for 10 seconds for her second and match-winning waza-ari. In the second semi-final DEL TORO CARVAJAL dismissed The Hague Grand Prix silver medallist Alice SCHLESINGER (GBR) by ippon.
The first bronze medal contest was won by SCHLESINGER who beat Asian Games silver medallist WATANABE Kiyomi (PHI) by a waza-ari score from a uchi-mata.
The second bronze medal was won by LIVESEY who powered past world number 40 Anriquelis BARRIOS (VEN) by ippon from a o-uchi-gari. LIVESEY, who had her club coach from SKK Judo Club in Merseyside, Peter BLOOD, in the coaching chair, defeated the Tokai-bound Venezuelan for an important medal to match the result of her teammate SCHLESINGER.

-70kg: Glory for Greece as TELTSIDOU clinches gold
Marrakech Grand Prix bronze medallist Elisavet TELTSIDOU (GRE) won her first IJF World Judo Tour final with a major upset over former world number one Maria PORTELA (BRA). TELTSIDOU, who was buoyed from her seventh-place in Tbilisi a week ago, delivered gold for Greece with a sensational hip throw for ippon and her country’s second medal on day two in Turkey.
In the first semi-final PORTELA bested five-time Grand Slam medallist Elvismar RODRIGUEZ (VEN) by ippon while in the second semi-final world number 79 SUN Xiaoqian (CHN) fell to TELTSIDOU by the maximum score.
The first bronze medal was awarded to Düsseldorf Grand Slam silver medallist Miriam BUTKEREIT (GER) who threw SUN for a waza-ari score and forced the Chinese judoka to submit from the pressure of a tate-shiho-gatame hold.
The second bronze medal was won by Tokai University judoka RODRIGUEZ with a fast ippon seoi-nage as world number 30 Alena PROKOPENKO (RUS) had no time to try and turn out of the throw and lost by ippon.

-73kg: World champion AN unbeatable in Turkey as he nears title defense in Japan
World champion AN Changrim (KOR) reigned in Antalya as he beat Olympic silver medallist Rustam ORUJOV (AZE) in a pulsating -73kg final. AN, who was wearing his red backpatch and competing for only the second time since winning his first world title, pushed the pace in golden score against his long-time rival to the point where it was one-way traffic in golden score. ORUJOV weathered a string of attacks until he was caught with a neat piece of ashi-waza for a waza-ari score.
In the first semi-final AN beat Tbilisi Grand Prix winner Guillaume CHAINE (FRA) with a tai-otoshi with 14 seconds left on the clock having led by a waza-ari from a harai-goshi. In the second semi-final ORUJOV defeated world number 107 Lechi EDIEV (RUS) in golden score by ippon from a harai-makikomi.
The first bronze medal was won by world number 60 Georgios AZOIDIS (GRE) who secured his first IJF medal by scraping past EDIEV by a waza-ari score.
The second bronze medal went to CHAINE who defeated former Zagreb Grand Prix winner Dmytro KANIVETS (UKR) after the Ukrainian was disqualified for picking up his third shido.

-81kg: Georgian youngster MAISURADZE makes his mark
Ekaterinburg Grand Slam bronze medallist Luka MAISURADZE (GEO) provided Georgia with gold on day two as he beat fellow young gun and Tel Aviv Grand Prix bronze medallist Christian PARLATI (ITA) in the -81kg final. MAISURADZE threw with an o-soto-gari which the world number 33 initially resisted but the Georgian kept driving and finished the technique to win his first IJF gold medal.
In the first semi-final PARLATI progressed by ippon with a win over Ekaterinburg Grand Slam bronze medallist Etienne BRIAND (CAN). In the second semi-final MAISURADZE shocked Olympic champion Khasan KHALMURZAEV (RUS) by rolling the Russian to counter a uchi-mata for a waza-ari score which separated the rivals after four minutes.
The first bronze medal was won by world number nine KHALMURZAEV who ended a herculean effort from former European Youth Olympic Festival winner Muhammed KOC (TUR) with a waza-ari from a ko-uchi-gake. KOC, 18, who was fighting for an IJF medal for the fist time, was caught in golden score to end the home crowd’s hopes of a medal on day two.
The second bronze medal went to London 2012 Olympic bronze medallist Antoine VALOIS-FORTIER (CAN) after BRIAND accumulated three penalties in three minutes and had to settle for fifth-place.
