It must be said that this is the last grand slam of this pre-Olympic season and that the points at stake can change a lot of things. In two weeks, there will still be the Abu Dhabi World Championships which promise to be particularly exciting.
We are approaching the final outcome and each day of the World Judo Tour reveals its share of surprises. The first day of the Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam 2024 was no exception to the rule. The commitment of all the athletes, their desire to perform and their ability to find the necessary resources to do so is incredible.
For three years since the end of the Tokyo 2020 Games, the judo family has united around its values and the Parisian summer goal. Athletes from all over the world gave their all, without letting up the pressure for a single moment. Hundreds of hours of work, in the dojo or in the gym, on the five continents; days, even weeks of training camps, followed one another at a breakneck pace.
For some, there are only a few hours of effort left to find the precious grail. We will still have the opportunity to talk about it but we can already say a big thank you to everyone. You kept us in suspense, you gave us a lot of pleasure and you made us dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
