The website (https://olympics.com/athlete365/connect/) announces it clearly, "Get started now and share action shots and more with your fans!" This is what judoka present in Tokyo are asked for.
Nicole Allen, Senior Customer Success Manager at Greenfly, explained, "Through the partnership with the IOC, this initiative is aimed at generating engagement with athletes, helping them share images taken on the spot with an instant access to new content. They can use the images on social media as well as download them to share them with their families and friends."
The benefits are actually numerous: immediate access to the images of the day, quick and easy sharing of professional photos, countdown and other great content to share, to support each other by promoting other team members’ performances.
"Through the Athlete365 Connect powered by Greenfly initiative, the IOC is investing in athletes whose dream is to participate in the next Olympic Games. On the road to Paris 2024, there is a lot to be done and this Tokyo Grand Slam is the first judo event we are investing in and one of the first sports events we are covering,” added Nicole Allen, before contributing a more personal point of view, "I am very excited to be here. Yesterday I was in the warm-up area and could feel the energy. There was buzz in the air. We are happy to play a small part in the athletes' lives; it’s an honour. I am really happy to know more about judo as well."
Rachel Griffiths, from the Olympic Channel, who is also present in Tokyo, said, "It's a great platform for the athletes to build stories towards Paris 2024. It gives them tools to make their community grow."
Sabrina Filzmoser, IJF Athlete's Commission Chair, underlined, "Such an initiative is important. It shows the support that athletes can get from the IOC and the IJF. It gives them some ideas, easy solutions, when they are mainly focusing on their career and on sport. Building a community is also part of the game and it's important to know what to do."
The IJF, which is also doing a lot to promote athletes and help them to get more visibility, is happy to be welcome the Athlete365 Connect powered by Greenfly initiative. This is a premiere and we hope and believe that there will be more in the months to come to build a strong road to Paris 2024.
