Johannes Daxbacher, head of the Police Commission, represented the IJF as part of the partnership agreement between the IJF and CISM. "Uzbekistan was a perfect host country, showing incredible hospitality. Every participant, from the athletes to the team officials and all the delegates, really felt like they were at home.
The organisers built the perfect conditions for all the men’s and women to deliver great judo performances. Many contests were very close, often ending with ippon, which pleased the spectators who didn't muffle their applause.
Thank you to the local organisers and to the CISM for holding this edition of the military world championships. This great success in Tashkent is their combined result. We are looking forward to the next CISM judo event."
In total, 213 athletes from 29 countries participated in the event. In the final ranking, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and France took the top three places with 6, 4 and 2 titles respectively, while Kazakhstan, Algeria, Italy and Hungary won a gold medal each. Of the 29 countries involved, 17 left with at least one medal, while 20 participated in the final block.
In the team tournament, in the men's event, Mongolia won the military world title, ahead of the host country, while Uzbekistan won the gold medal in the women's competition, with the silver medal going to France.
