The IJF’s social media platforms are among the most popular in the Olympic movement according to data from Swiss consultancy firm TSE Consulting.

The company has published a 2017 Olympic Sport Social Media Ranking following an analysis of the social media footprint of the IOC and its member international sport federations.

Judo performed strongly in terms of effectiveness, activity and engagement across a range of platforms.

754,000 Facebook fans

The IJF, which exceeded a total of 1,000,000 fans across all platforms in December, was singled out for having one of the most popular and most active Facebook pages. Firmly inside the top 10 Facebook pages among Olympic Sports Federations, the highly-active page averages four posts per day.

The IJF's YouTube page, which features a free live stream of all events, special features and highlights shows, was highlighted as one of the most followed and most effective accounts.

The IJF is fifth when it comes to total interactions. (1.5m) and is mentioned in the top 5 of most effective Olympic Sports Federations in YouTube.

IJF President Mr. Marius Vizer has an active Twitter account and is among the most followed IF President's with 2,152 followers.

Mr. Vizer hosts regular live Twitter Q&A's which have proved a hit online with questions posed by the international media, judoka, fans, coaches and sports officials using the hashtag #AskVizer
